Giltspur Scientific Ltd are this year’s proud sponsors of the Royal Dick Veterinary College Rugby Football Club. The team is well established in the Scottish Rugby Union and is an integral part of the university. The team is currently sitting mid table in the league following a shaky start and are hopeful they can go from strength to strength. Mark Goodlad, team captain, believes that the success of the team is thanks to all the hard work of the players and coaching staff as well as the support of Giltspur Scientific.
Based in Ballyclare, Northern Ireland, Giltspur Scientific Ltd was established in 1991. The founder and Managing Director, Dr E F Logan BVM&S, PhD, FRCVS invented the renowned plastic orthopaedic shoe for dairy cows known throughout the world as Cowslips or Sabottines. Exported to seventeen countries worldwide, the shoes have improved the welfare of millions of cows by reducing the pain inflicted by lameness. The Cowslips are listed as a Millennium product and have won distinguished awards such as The Prince Philip Award for Merit, The New Zealand National Fieldays Award of Merit and the illustrious Inel D’Or Sante Animale.
Dr Logan is a Dick Vet graduate and is still enthusiastic about the success and growth of the club. |
